The Wild Pansy is a British and European wildflower with masses of long-lasting flowers throughout the summer from April to September. Plants flower in varying shades of blue, often with purple, yellow and white variants and markings. They grow to a height of 20-30cm. Good for edging, pots, rockeries and coastal gardens and in wilder spaces. They are attractive to pollinators.
Wild Pansies grow best in sun or part shade and well-drained neutral to acidic soils. They grow well in containers. These plants are used as a traditional herbal medicine and the flowers are edible, often used in salads and for cake decorations.
