Coronavirus update
|
2 May 2020
|
April 2020 - PlantGenesis remains open during the Coronavirus pandemic. We are a family business and continue to work together, keeping our customers and ourselves safe, sending seeds out within the UK and Western Europe. We are fortunate that the Royal Mail postal system is working reasonably well, although some customers are experiencing delays. Please let us know if you have any problems, as we are here to help.
There has been a huge increase in interest in growing plants from seed, which is fantastic to see, and a challenge for us to deliver! Many of you are buying herb seeds, which we are trying to re-stock but struggling to keep up with the pace. There is a strong interest in colourful annuals, such as Cosmos, Poppies and Sweet Peas. Your gardens are going to look amazing this year!
Many thanks for your support. Some of you have sent us fantastic letters and photos which we love to receive, so please keep sending them.

We are changing our seed packaging!
|
15 Mar 2019
|
PressRelease:
We are happyto announce that PlantGenesis is changing how our seeds are packed. We are responding to customer demand for ourproduct packaging to be environmentally friendly and kept to a minimum.
Our newseed packets are made from brown and unbleached recycled paper. This helps keep the seeds in good condition ontheir way to our customers. Once used, the packets can be added to the garden compost bin or recycled with normalpaper recycling boxes or bags.
We havepacked our seeds in heat sealed foil laminate pouches for over five years andfeel that now is the time to make the switch. Thanks to Plastic Free Roseland for involving us in beach cleans here inThe Roseland in Cornwall, which was a real eye-opener, and in encouraging us tomake the changes. We are gradually movingover to new packaging during early 2019 and aim to complete the switch-overwell before the end of the year.
We are alsolooking at other ways to reduce our use of plastic. We have switched to wooden plant labels, arere-using plastic growing pots, and are looking at the potential for introducingfibre pots for growing plants.

PlantGenesis is launching a range of plants for sale from spring 2019. As we approach spring more plants will be loaded on our website and become available for buying online. All our plants are grown in Cornwall using as few chemicals and artificial fertilizers as possible.
Plants will include many grown from our own seed catalogue, with a particular focus on plants for Mediterranean and coastal gardens. Plus some Mediterranean and Cape Flora plants that do well as houseplants. We also have others that we like or get asked for! Let us know if you are looking for something in particular or would like some advice.
We take plants, seeds and bulbs to the Veryan Country Market, at the Veryan Parish Hall in Veryan, Cornwall TR2 5QA from 10-30am to 12.30pm. The market is held on the first Saturday of each month, except January and February.
