Veronica gentianoides 'Blue Streak' / Seeds

A wonderful variety of Veronica with spikes of pale lavender blue flowers with gentian streaks in June to August.  These are great border plants, growing up to 45cm in height. This variety has an RHS Award of Garden Merit.

Veronica grows best in sun to part shade and well drained soil.  Plants look good in borders and gravel gardens.

Pack of 40 seeds.  Sow in spring or autumn.  Germination can be erratic so sow more than you need.  Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.

Hardiness Hardy deciduous perennial
Flowers June to August
Height 30 - 45cm
Spread 30cm
Conditions  Full sun to part shade and well-drained soil
Sow From March to July, sow on the surface of moist seed compost.  Keep at 18°C (no higher than 22°C) and germination takes about 2-3 weeks.  If there is no germination, move to a fridge for three weeks.  Then keep at around 15°C and germination takes about 3 weeks.  Grow on as cool as possible, transplanting in late summer into pots, overwintering in a cold frame and planting out in spring.  Or in autumn, sow in a tray in a coldframe, for germination in early spring. Prick out in April and plant out in late May.  Autumn sowings may flower in the first year.
Grow Deadhead the plants to encourage more to flower.  Plants die back in winter when they can be cleared up and start regrowing in spring.  Mature clumps can be divided in spring or autumn.
