Sedum spurium 'Summer Glory' / Mongolian Stonecrop / Seeds

A low growing succulent plant with attractive deep pink star-shaped flowers in July to September.  Plants form a mat of green leaves, which are evergreen in milder climates, and can tolerate light foot traffic.  Good in rockeries and gravel gardens.

This Sedum prefers a warm sunny spot and well-drained soil. It can be used as a ground cover for poorer soils, growing to a height of about 15cm.

Pack of approx 200 small seeds.  Sow in spring to autumn.  Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.

Hardiness Hardy succulent perennial (RHS Hardiness H5)
Flowers July to September
Height A low growing plant, 10-15cm in height
Spread 30-60cm
Conditions  Sun to part shade and well-drained soil - will tolerate shade
Sow Sow anytime in a tray of moist seed compost.  Cover very lightly with compost or vermiculite, and do not exclude light, which is needed for germination.  Keep at 15-21°C.  Germination takes 2-4 weeks.  If there is no germination, move the tray to a fridge for 2-4 weeks and back into the warmth.  Or sow in autumn/winter and keep in a coldframe.  Seeds start to germinate in the spring.  Pot on when seedlings are big enough to handle and plant into the garden when frost free.
Grow Plants grow quickly into mat which needs little maintenance.  Dead material and old flowerheads can be cutback in early spring. Mature plants are easily divided in spring or autumn.   Stem cuttings take easily in spring and summer – break off pieces and plant directly into the ground or into pots.
