A great first year flowering Salvia, with masses of intense scarlet flowers all through the summer, from June to September. The flowers make an attractive contrast to the deep green leaves, which have a spicy scent. Salvia ‘Hot Trumpets’ are compact plants, growing to a height of 20-30cm and good for both borders and pots. They attract bees and butterflies into the garden.
Salvia ‘Hot Trumpets’ does best in sun to part shade and a wide range of well-drained soils. A position in well-drained soil helps these plants to survive the winter, as they are on the edge of hardiness. Salvia takes good cuttings.
