Salvia lyrata 'Purple Volcano' / Lyre Leaved Sage / Seeds

A Salvia grown for its attractive ornamental deep purple leaves.  Each plant grows a rosette of leaves to a height of about 40 cm with tall spikes of delicate violet flowers from May/June to August.

Salvia 'Purple Volcano' is good for containers, edging, ground cover and for landscaping.  It is tough once established and has good tolerance of heat in the summer.

Plant in a sunny spot for the best purple leaves.  Plants grown in the shade will have greener leaves.

Pack of 25 seeds.  Sow anytime, most commonly January to June.  Plants flower in the first year from early sowings.  Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.
