A lovely British wildflower with umbels of fragrant deep yellow flowers in spring from March to May. Cowslips grow a rosette of semi-evergreen leaves and characteristic stalks of nodding flowerheads, growing to a height of about 25cm. Plants look great at edging, in pots, in rockeries and wilder parts of your garden. Plants attract bees, butterflies and moths.
Cowslips grow best in sun to light shade and moist but not waterlogged soils. They do not tolerate deep shade well. They will naturalise in the right places.
Pack of approx 500 seeds. Sow indoors in spring and summer and plant outside after hardening off. Or sow the seeds in autumn, either outside or in an unheated greenhouse and seeds germinate in the spring. Germination is erratic so sow more than you need. Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.
