An unusual later flowering Lavender, growing in dry mountainous areas of Spain. Plants have fine silvery woolly evergreen leaves and spikes of lilac flowers later in the summer. Woolly Lavender plants grow into small shrubs up to about 1m in height. They can be pruned after flowering or in the spring to maintain a good shape.
These plants grow best in full hot sun and well-drained soil, doing well in dry herb gardens, rockeries and pots. They are on the tender side, but can survive winters in warmer places in the UK in well-drained soil – otherwise protect over winter or take cuttings in summer.
