Gomphrena is an appealing border plant and cut flower. Plants have deep strawberry-red flowers from mid to late summer, typically July to the first frosts. They are great border fillers, look good in dry gardens, and grow well in containers. They are reliable fresh and dried flowers.
These plants grow best in full hot sun and well drained soil. They grow to a height of 50 -60cm. Gomphrena ‘Strawberry Fields are natural tender perennials but are grown as annuals in cooler climates such as the UK, dying back once the first frosts arrive. They live longer in warmer climates.
Pack of approx 100 seeds. Sow indoors in spring to early summer, and plant out after the last frost. In warmer gardens, sow the seeds directly into cultivated soil in late spring. Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.
