Teasel is a good plant for informal borders and for growing as cut flowers. Each plant grows a rosette of leaves in the first year and then flower spikes up to 2m tall the following summer, from June to August. The flowers mature from white to purple and look good in the garden over the winter, as a source of seed for birds, and as dried flowers. Also a traditional medicinal plant.
Teasel grows best in full sun to part shade and moist soils, including clay. Plants self-seed in the right conditions.
Pack of 1g (approx 650) seeds. Sow indoors in spring to summer into a tray of compost or preferably outdoors directly into the ground in spring or autumn. Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.
Seeds are grown in Cornwall, UK.
