Catanache is an attractive border plant and good cut flower. Plants grow to a height of 60-80cm with grass-like leaves and appealing papery lavender-blue flowers. There are flowers all summer from July/August to October. These are tough plants, being drought tolerant once established, and looking good in gravel and dry gardens as well as flower borders. The strong stems make these good cut and dried flowers.
Cupid’s Dart grows best in a sunny position in well drained soil. It is a perennial plant, dying back in winter and regrowing in spring. It flowers in the first year from sowing, and is often grown as an annual, particularly by flower growers.
Pack of approx 80 seeds. Sow indoors in early spring and outdoors directly into the soil in spring and summer. Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet.
