Sow |
Sow in autumn or early spring in a tray or pots of moist seed compost and cover with 6-10mm of compost. Keep at 18-23°C and seedlings emerge in 1-2 weeks. Pot on and grow until the plants are ready to plant out in late spring. Keep autumn sowings in a greenhouse or cold frame over winter. Or sow directly into cultivated soil in late spring (May and June). |
Grow |
Water young plants regularly, especially if grown in pots. Remove spent flowers to encourage more flowering and to prevent self-seeding. Remove the plants once they have died back in the autumn. |
