Sea Thrift is a wild flower growing around our shoes and rocky outcrops. Plants have neat mounds of grass-like leaves and attractive pale pink pompom flowerheads in late spring and summer. These are great garden plants looking good in rock and gravel gardens, in pots and as edging. They are evergreen so look good all year, and they grow to a height of about 30cm. Bees love them.
Sea Thrift grows best in sun to part shade and in poor, well drained gritty soil. Plants tolerate dry, windy and coastal situations.
